A short little story..

Once, a christian walked into a barber shop to have his hair cut. His hair is getting long & that irritates him. As the barber was cutting his hair, they started talking. The barber challenged the christian and said that there is no Heaven but only Hell, and that all ppl who dies will go to Hell. He did not believe in the existence of Jesus Christ too.

The christian tried to defend by saying Jesus really do exist, even quoting verses frm the holy bible.

The barber then said "Look out of the window over there. See all those poor skinny children squatting out there begging for food? If God does exist why wld He make these children suffer? If Jesus does exist these children will be leading a happy life and there wont be any sufferings in the world. So i say Jesus does not exist."

The christian was speechless. Aft cutting his hair, sadly he left the barber shop feeling guilty of not able to defend Christ.

While he was out of the shop, suddenly something inside him told him to go back to the barber. He cld not juz leave like this! Putting his trust & faith in God once again, miraculously this christian walked back into the barber shop once again. He let the Holy Spirit inside to speak thru him.

Christian, "i say barbers dun exist at all."

Barber, "Hey wat are u saying? I am a barber. I exist!"

Christian, "Look out of the window. See all those poor little children squatting out there begging for food? See their hair, arent they long?? If barbers do exist why are their hair still long? It shld be short and neat!"

Barber, "...... it's bcoz they didnt come to me! If they come & pay me $$ i'll cut their hair for sure! It doesnt mean that their hair is long thus i dun exist!"

Christian, "Indeed. It's coz they didnt come to Jesus tt's y they are still suffering now, physically & mentally. But tt doesnt mean Jesus doesnt exist! They'll juz have to go to Him, Our Lord. It's only thru Him that u can find happiness, & eternal life. And the "payment" that they'll have to give is not $$, but FAITH towards Him."

As simple as tt. Salvation is tt easy.

(Matt 16: 24-27)

Then Jesus said to His diciples,

"If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
"For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to His works."

Amen.

Believing is not enuf.

Sin of commission = "the bad actions we commit"
Sin of omission = "the good things we fail to do"

*The sin of ommission is often a greater sin than the sin of commission.

If u noe tt following Jesus & serving Him is the right thing to do & yet u fail to do it, u'll be commiting an even greater sin than the 13 evils : evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride & foolishness.

So, stop being a believer. Be a disciple now.
