So we cabbie over to the hotel together..
Something hilarious happened! I forgot that the driver & passenger seats were the opposite of SG, so while the cab driver was hauling our enormous luggages up his cab, i unknowingly walked up to the LEFT side of the cab (driver seat) and wanted to get on the cab from there! & there came a VERY LOUD "eh?" from me when i saw how come there was a steering wheel there! -_-It took me a few secs before i realized my folly. And a few more secs for the 2 indonesians & cab driver to react and started laughing at me. Fine. Laugh all you can! haha..
Some pictures along the way from airport - hotel.
Some stadium.. looks pretty old though..
The interior of the cab! Ancient huh!
Dark sky & cool weather.
Oh it was ~11am. The sun is the brightest at 2-3pm over there, not 12 noon.
I can't remember what is this. Seems like it's not a bridge or a flyover..
Railway track!
Like the look of the trees.. Looks like autumn.
& tadaa! The beautiful "Ponte 25 de Abril" bridge; meaning 25th April bridge, according to the tour guide, was built as a model to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Can't rem why it was called "25th April".. Probably constructed that day? By the way, the hotel we stayed in was just a stone's throw away from the bridge. It looks absoultely beautiful with the lightings at night. Will pose up more pics in my later entries~
Portuguese cabbie uncle & me. (uncle looks rugged huh!)
Vila Gale Opera Hotel~ Not a very big hotel, but nonetheless feels cosy & at home.
I luuuuuv its buffets! U'll know why. =p
Lobby area.
They don't have a single-bed room. It's meant to be a double bed for one person to sleep. But since they don't have single beds, they combined 2 singles to form a bigger bed! A little wierd. But i like. Beds are really comfy. =)
Lol Ginger again... guess i'm too bored alone. =p
The view outside from 3rd storey..
Paintings above the beds..
Tired me! & i didn't get the chance to rest.. Shortly after packing my stuffs & a quick washup, i had to go down to one of the meeting rooms downstairs to do some last minute work with colleague for the conference that is going to start the next day..
Lastly, my early dinner (~5pm) bought back by boss while colleague & i spent the rest of our 1st day in Lisbon in the meeting room working. (no im not complaining. =P)
Fish with steamed potatoes & vege.. It could have been healthier & more delicious.. just that the fish was WAY TOO SALTY!!!
1st impression of Lisbon food - THEY ATE SUCH SALTY STUFFS?!??
That's basically how my 1st day in Lisbon went on a cooling Sunday.. ;)
